Yesterday, February 15th, Governor Alex Otti, OFR, and his amiable wife, Her Excellency, Mrs. Priscilla Chidimma Otti, worshipped at Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, South East Region VI Headquarters, 14 Uzoanya Crescent, off 57 Asaba Street, Amuzukwu, Umuahia.
The worship was in commemoration of the 8th anniversary celebration of the Regional Overseer, Pastor Olugbenga Aremu, marking eight impactful years of spiritual leadership and service in God’s vineyard in Abia State.

Governor Otti commended the Church for remaining steadfast in faith even when it seemed that change would never come to the State. He acknowledged that their unwavering prayers and belief that one day things would change for the better have come to fulfillment.
He prayed that God would continue to use Pastor Aremu as a vessel of blessing to the people, while thanking God for bringing him to Abia.
Governor Otti told the Church that God does not make mistakes, noting that Pastor Aremu could have been sent elsewhere, yet by God’s design, he was brought to Umuahia, where his pastoral work has brought immense blessings to Abians.
He encouraged believers not to lose hope when answers to their prayers seem delayed. Sometimes, he noted, one may pray and begin to wonder whether God is truly answering. Doubts may arise, and one may question whether they heard correctly from God. Yet, he urged the faithful not to give up on their dreams, visions, or long-held aspirations.
Governor Otti reflected on his personal journey, stating that God speaks to different people — including himself — though that does not make anyone more righteous than others. He explained that when God gives a vision, He may not reveal the exact timing of its fulfillment.
He recalled how he contested and won the governorship election in 2015 but was denied victory. He contested again in 2019 and faced similar disappointment. However, he maintained that when God gives a vision, there will often be challenges, hiccups, and moments of doubt along the way — experiences that test one’s conviction and faith.
He encouraged the worshipers to hold fast to the vision, remain steadfast in faith, work hard, trusting that in God’s appointed time, His promises will surely come to pass.
“I don’t know what you have been praying about or struggling with; I don’t know what you’ve been struggling with. Just remain consistent in prayer and work hard. If God does not answer you today, he will answer you tomorrow. If you are in doubt, come and ask me,” Governor Otti Stated.
“The final thing I would like to say is that because this is a Government instituted by God, it is a God fearing Government. We will try as much as possible; we are humans, we will try to work for God’s people, Abia people, that’s one thing.
“The other thing is that we will also continue to work hard to restore the dignity of the Abia Person. That includes people living in Abia. We don’t discriminate; once you live in Abia, you are from Abia. So, Pastor Aremu is an Abia son,” Governor Otti stated amidst joyful noise from the congregation.
Governor Otti disclosed that some of the newly recruited teachers and the 649 newly employed health workers by his administration are not all from Abia. He equally disclosed that they have all resumed work.
Pastor Olugbenga Aremu led the Church into fervent prayers for the Governor, his family, entourage, and the State, declaring that, among other blessings, the Governor would be elected to complete his second term and the good works that he has started.
The National Secretary of the Labour Party, Sen. Darlington Nwokocha, the Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Austin Okezie Nmeregeni, the Abia State Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu, the Mayor of Umuahia North LGA, and Hon. Smart Ihuoma were among the top Government functionaries who also attended the Church service.
