Abia State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, paid a condolence visit to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, CON, over the death of his mother, Late Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi.
Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2026, at the age of 89.
Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is a former Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, former Governor of Rivers State, former Minister of Transportation, and the current Vice Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 general elections.
Governor Otti and Rt. Hon. Amaechi share a longstanding friendship spanning over three decades, dating back to their days at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
During the visit, Governor Otti spent quality time with Rt. Hon. Amaechi and members of his family. He offered his heartfelt condolences and prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
The Governor also signed the condolence register in honour of the late Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi. The late Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi will be laid to rest on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
