Abia State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has congratulated the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), South-East Region 6 Headquarters, Amuzukwu, Umuahia, on its 29th Anniversary.
Governor Otti gave the congratulatory message on Sunday, September 27, 2026, as Special Guest at the anniversary celebration held at the MFM South-East Region 6 Headquarters, Amuzukwu, Umuahia. The Governor described the milestone as evidence of sustained commitment, sacrifice and service to God.

The State Chief Executive commended the church for its steady growth over the years, noting that three Regional Overseers have served in its 29-year history. He appreciated the contributions of the current leadership and prayed for continued growth and greater impact.
Governor Otti used the occasion to commend Abians for their growing culture of civic responsibility, particularly in environmental cleanliness and compliance with public regulations.

Gov. Otti recounted an incident involving a visitor to Umuahia who witnessed a motorist improperly disposing of waste and saw security personnel respond promptly by compelling the offender to retrieve the waste.
According to the Governor, the incident, alongside the orderly conduct of motorists at traffic lights, demonstrates the positive shift in public attitude towards the Government’s efforts to rebuild the State.
“Our people are very good people. Very hardworking people. Honest people. That’s who we are,” Governor Otti said.
While acknowledging that isolated cases of wrongdoing may occur in any society, the Governor noted that the majority of Abians remain committed to positive values and urged the congregation to sustain responsible citizenship.
Gov. Otti further encouraged the people not to be discouraged by present difficulties, stressing resilience and perseverance.
“Things may look difficult today. But hard times don’t last. Tough people do,” The Governor encouraged.
Earlier in his sermon titled “Anointing for Success,” the Regional Overseer of MFM South-East Region 6, Pastor Olugbenga Aremu, charged Christians to remain focused, resilient and committed to purpose to achieve meaningful results.
Drawing lessons from the biblical account of anointing and divine elevation, Pastor Aremu explained that anointing represents God’s empowerment, authority and grace for the fulfilment of purpose. He noted that challenges should not be seen merely as obstacles, but as preparation for greater responsibilities.
The Regional Overseer commended Governor Otti, whom he described as a man of vision, for the visible transformation across the State, particularly in road infrastructure and other sectors, noting that the developments demonstrate purposeful leadership and clear vision.
The anniversary featured the cutting of the anniversary cake and was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Meribeole; the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, Ph.D.Mayor of Umuahia North, Hon. Smart Ihuoma; and other top government officials.
