Earlier today, the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, and his amiable wife, Her Excellency, Mrs. Priscilla Chidimma Otti, attended the burial ceremony of late Prof. Maureen Nneka Nwala, wife of Barr. Chukwudi Oracle Nwala, Ph.D, mni.
Prof. Nneka Nwala, until her sudden demise, was a Professor of Finance at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, where she taught both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She was also a member of many professional bodies.

Addressing the family, friends, and well-wishers of the family who had gathered to pay their last respect to the late Prof. Maureen Nwala, Governor Otti said that the late Prof. Maureen Nwala, as a Christian, is not dead because Christians do not die but sleep in the Lord, awaiting the resurrection morning.
In his condolence message to the family, Governor Otti said that he received with shock, the shattering news of the demise of Prof. Nneka Nwala, saying that, “Despite the fact that we cannot question God, we would have loved her to remain with us here and continue to bless her generation with her patience, brilliance, and wealth of knowledge in the financial world.
The Governor described her death as a huge loss to the family and all those who encountered her “quiet but charismatic personality.”
While acknowledging that words may not be enough to console the family in this difficult and trying time, he encouraged them to find solace in the fact that she lived a life of selflessness and honour.
Governor Otti unveiled a book title, RADIANT FOOTPRINTS – the life and times of Prof. Nneka Nwala, edited by Oracle Nwala, Ph.D, mni.
The Husband, Dr. Chukwudi Oracle Nwala, who described his late wife as an angel, categorized her life into three parts: Lover of God, Housewife, and teacher at the Nasarawa State University. He said that she was fully devoted to the three parts.
The family thanked Governor Otti for the huge support they received from him for the burial.
