Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has tasked the newly promoted security personnel in the State to strive to make positive impacts in society and distinguish themselves for good.
Governor Otti gave the charge on Friday, February 20th, in his office while decorating eight security personnel attached to the Office of the Governor, who were recently promoted.
“I want to start by thanking God. Promotion comes from God. Even those who may not openly acknowledge it know that elevation is divinely orchestrated,” Gov Otti stated.
“Make impact, distinguish yourselves for good, let people see you and recognize that you are giving extra effort and going the extra mile to deliver results,” Gov. Otti stated.
The Governor reminded the security personnel that elevation comes with higher expectations, and not a resting place but a stepping stone to greater accomplishments.
The State Chief Executive called on the officers to embrace dedication, resilience, and integrity as the pillars of their continued growth.
“So, we want to thank God for the elevation for all of you. We also want to thank you for the hard work that you have done for which this promotion came.
“As I’ve always said, the reward for hard work is more work. So, we expect that this is the least you will be in your career.
“This rank must be the least you will ever attain in your career. As you rise, pay attention.
“If there is any support you require, you can take it for granted it will come. But what will be demanded of you is unwavering dedication, hard work, and resilience.
“Encourage yourselves. Be confident, always do the right thing,” Gov. Otti charged.
Gov. Otti commended the officers for their diligence and commitment, emphasising that their promotions were earned through steadfast service and measurable impact.
“We thank you for the hard work you have put in, which has now translated into this well-deserved promotion,” Gov. Otti stated.
Gov. Otti prayed for sustained advancement and greater accomplishments in their careers.
In his vote of thanks, on behalf of his colleagues, one of the newly promoted personnel, Mr.Maduka Chukwudi Obiora, promoted to the rank of Assistant Director, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Otti for the opportunity to serve under his leadership.
He described their elevation as a demand for higher responsibility and assured that they would live up to expectations, and pledged to continue to show the Governor dedication and loyalty in the discharge of their duties.
The event was witnessed by the Honourable Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr. David Kalu, and other senior Government appointees.
