Abia State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has once again reassured Abians of nothing short of quality service in the delivery of dividends of democracy, reaffirming his mantra that anything worth doing must be done very well.
Governor gave the reassurance yesterday, February 27th, at the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communication), Diocese of Isiala Ngwa South, St. Silas Anglican Amapu, during the funeral service of late Mrs Comfort Omanma Ukah.

“For us in Abia, it’s either we get it right, or we don’t do it at all. So, some of the things you see that we have not gotten to are because we are planning.
“It took us about two years to conclude the planning to bring in Radisson Blu into Aba to reconstruct Enyimba Hotel, which had just been flagged off about two days ago.

“So, there isare lot of plans being cooked… there’s a whole lot that we have in stock for our people in Abia State,” the Governor declared while assuring the people of greater things to come.
Talking about the late Mrs. Comfort Omanma Ukah, mother of Pharm. Chris Ukah of Umuagu Village of Umuachiri/Umuagu Community, Isiala Ngwa South LGA, Governor Otti said that she lived a long and fulfilled life, and died in the Lord, hence, there was no need to weep but to celebrate a life well lived.
“So, if I see anybody weeping, that person is weeping for himself, not for mama; he lived a good life.
“What we have come here today to do is to celebrate her. We thank God for the gift of this woman…This was a strong woman, and she had a lot of legacies.
“And, we have no doubt that on that resurrection day, when the trumpet shall sound, that she will be among the first, because she knows where she is headed,” the Governor stated.
“So, the challenge is for all of us. Do you know where you are headed? What have you done to deserve that place you think you want to head to? You have to work out your salvation.
Governor Otti used the opportunity to publicly thank Archbishop Isaac Nwaobia of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communication), Diocese of Isiala Ngwa South, whom he described as a prayer partner during the 8-year struggle to liberate Abia State.
“I would also like to use this opportunity to publicly thank the Archbishop. The Archbishop was a prayer partner in the 8 years when we struggled to serve our people.
“Sometimes, he will drive in unannounced. Sometimes 8:at 8 PM he will come and pray with us.
“And, he led other fathers of faith to declare that enough was enough in Abia State.
“Before you saw what happened in the physical realm, it had already been concluded in the spiritual realm. So, we do not take anything for granted.
The family of late Mrs. Ukah thanked Governor Otti for identifying with them in their moment of grief and making it easier for their guests to come through the roads he fixed, amongst other things he is doing across the State.
The Governor was accompanied to the burial ceremony by the Lawmaker representing Isiala Ngwa South State Constituency, Hon. Roland Chinwendu, the Commissioner for Power and Public Utilities, Engr. Ikechukwu Monday, the Mayor of Isiala Ngwa South, Hon. Nnadozie Nwaogwugw mong other government functionaries.
