Abia State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has reassured the people of the State of greater dividends of democracy as he intensifies work to sustain and improve on his impactful achievements in the first two years of his administration.
Governor Otti gave the assurance on Sunday, 13th July, during a Church service at the Christian Pentecostal Mission International Church Headquarters, Elizabeth Avenue, GRA, Aba, Abia State.
Governor Otti, whose presence electrified the worship arena, expressed gratitude to the Church members for their unwavering support since 2015. He assured the congregation that the visible achievements of his administration in the past two years are only a glimpse of the greater dividends of democracy that the State will experience in the coming years under his leadership.
He commended the Church led by Rev. F.N. Daniels for their efforts in constructing a magnificent Church building and assured them of his consistent support as they work to complete it.
In their written welcome address to the Governor, the Church described Governor Otti as an extraordinary instrument brought by God to rewrite the history of the State for good.
They highlighted some of the Governor’s significant people-centered achievements over the past two years. Among these, they mentioned the reconstruction of Port Harcourt Road in Aba, which had been impassable for decades. They also noted the ongoing reconstruction work on Obohia Road, Ohanku Road, and the road leading to their Church, along with other road projects currently ongoing in Aba and other parts of the State.
They equally commended the Governor for his strides in the health sector, the education sector, and for taking the welfare of the retired and active workforce of the State seriously, amongst other achievements.
In his Sermon, the preacher of the day, Rev. Victor Duwem, welcomed Governor Otti with a testimony of how he drove home recently to Nvosi through Eketa in Isiala Ngwa on a tarred road made possible by Governor Otti. He recalled that before the emergence of Dr. Otti, the road was inaccessible, but it is now accessible because of the work done there by Governor Otti.
Preaching on a sermon titled, “Living to please God”, Rev. Duwem told the congregation that to please God, you must have faith, believe, and obey God, and remain consistent in serving God. He stated that the benefits of pleasing God include protection from shame and lack, and being preserved from evil, etc.
The Church offered prayers for the Governor, his family, and his entourage, as well as for the State. They assured him of their unwavering support beyond 2027 and prayed that God would elevate his public service beyond the State level.
Governor Otti was joined in the Worship by the Acting State Chairman of the Labour Party, Sir Emmanuel Nweze Oti, the Lawmaker representing Aba North State Constituency, Hon. Aaron Uzodike, Hon. Fyne Ahuama representing Osisioma State Constituency, Hon. Ucheonye Stephen, representing ABA Central State Constituency, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, Ph.D, the Mayor of Aba North, Hon. Timothy Iheke, Aba South Mayor, Hon. Nwaobilor Anyanwu, the Mayor of Osisioma LGA, Hon. Chidi Agu, among other government functionaries.
