GOV. OTTI ATTENDS THE BURI‎AL CEREMONY OF LATE EZINNE GRACE OYIDIE KANNO.

Earlier today, Governor Alex Otti, OFR, attended the burial ceremony of late Ezinne Grace Oyidie Kanno, SWM, JP, who was laid to rest in her hometown of Amuvi, Arochukwu, in Arochukwu LGA.

‎Retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Ivy Uche Okoronkwo, is one of the illustrious surviving children of the Late Ezinne Grace Kanno, who passed at the age of 93 years.

Speaking during the funeral service conducted by the Methodist Church Nigeria, at Aro Civic Center, Governor Otti said that the occasion was not that of mourning but a celebration of life well lived, although he wished she had lived longer.

‎The Governor revealed that the late Mrs. Ikanno was one of his staunch supporters who did not just pray for him but kept calling and encouraging him not to give up, even after he was robbed of his victory in 2015. Gov. Otti disclosed that the Late Ezinne Ikanno told him that she heard correctly from God that one day, he would become the Governor of Abia State and fix the State.

‎In his condolence message to the family, Governor Otti described the passing of the late Mrs Ikanno as “…a great loss to the family and everyone who benefitted from her charitable lifestyle.”

‎”Until her death, she remained a true mother whose hospitality and devotion to God touched every life around her. She was a supportive wife, a caring mother, grandmother, and a great-grandmother, whose home radiated warmth and unfeigned love for others,” Gov. Otti stated.

‎The Governor said that words may not be enough to console the family in this period of grief, but encouraged them to find solace in the fact that their departed mother lived a long and fulfilled life, left impactful memories in the hearts of men, and has gone to rest in the bosom of the Lord.

‎The burial was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life who came to pay their last respects to the late Ezinne Grace Oyidie Kanno.
