Today, 20th December, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, and his amiable wife, Her Excellency, Mrs. Priscilla Chidimma Otti, paid their last respect to Late Chief (Hon.) Humphrey Azubuike, husband to Dr. Mrs. Odochi Azubuike, the Chief Executive (C.E) of the Health Management Board (HMB), who was buried in his hometown of Ihie-Obeaku, in Ugwunagbo Local Government Area of the State.
Late Chief (Hon.) Humphrey Azubuike represented Ugwunagbo State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly from 2003 to 2015. He was the MD/CEO of Duffy Petroleum.
In his condolence letter to the family, Governor Otti expressed shock upon hearing the news of the demise of Chief Azubuike, who passed on at the age of 60. Governor Otti described Late Chief Azubuike as a brother and friend saying that his death was a monumental loss to the family and the entire State having departed the earth when his services to his family and the State was still needed.
Governor Otti said that although words may not be adequate to console them but that they should find solace in the fact that he lived a life of impact and honour, built viable businesses with other enduring legacies.
The Governor prayed God to grant his gentle soul rest in his bosom.
Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, Representing Abia South Senatorial Zone in the the National Assembly, The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, other serving and former Federal and State Lawmakers, Commissioners, serving and former Mayors were among the Very Important Personalities who attended the burial.
