GOVERNOR OTTI PAYS CONDOLENCE VIST TO THE FAMILY OF THE LATE EZE NELSON NWACHUKWU.

Abia State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti OFR, has expressed his condolences to the family of the late Eze Nelson Nwachukwu and the people of Ovungwu Community in Isiala Ngwa South LGA following his passing.

During a condolence visit to the family and the Ovungwu Community on Sunday, April 27th, Governor Otti said that the late Eze Nelson Nwachukwu lived a fulfilled life and led the community for many years. He stated that though Eze Nwachukwu passed away at a ripe old age, he was still surprised by the news of his death, as there were no indications during their last meeting that he would soon depart this world.

Governor Otti told the family and community that he had a very cordial relationship with the late monarch, noting that Eze Nwachukwu’s home was like home to him. He acknowledged the late Eze’s support in the struggle to liberate the State from poor governance since 2015. The Governor recalled attending Eze Nwachukwu’s 80th birthday shortly after the 2015 election and urged the family not to grieve too deeply.

The Governor instructed the Mayor of Isiala Ngwa South LGA, Hon. Nnadozie Nwaogwugwu, to coordinate between the family and the government regarding the burial arrangements, assuring them that the government would provide any necessary support for the funeral.

The family and the community expressed their gratitude to Governor Otti for taking the time to visit them in person amidst his busy schedule, noting the close relationship between the Governor and the late monarch.

Accompanying the Governor on the condolence visit were, the Hon. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Sir Prince Uzor Nwachukwu, the Hon. Commissioner for Culture and Creative Economy, Dr. Mathew Ekwuruibe, the Mayor of Isiala Ngwa South LGA, Hon. Nnadozie Nwaogwugwu, the Mayor of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Amb. Innocent Uruakpa and the First Deputy Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM. Eze Nelson Nmerengwa, along with other top government officials especially from Isiala Ngwa.
